Solution Settings

Following fields can be edited:

Solution Name This is the name of the solution. Initially this decides the name of the solution database.
Data start date This is used as initial settings when adding time dimensions and modules. Also the system tags STARTDATE, START_DATE, START_DAY, START_MONTH and START_YEAR get their values from this setting.
Data end date This is used as initial settings when adding time dimensions and modules. Also the system tags END_DATE, END_DAY, END_MONTH and END_YEAR get their values from this setting.
Solution Languages Select languages the are used within the solution for translations etc.
To add a new language, go to Name Definition editing, select language category and add the new language. Also use the Name Definition editing to add translations to existing name definitions (eg. AccountID, Actual..).

Note - Modules and Time dimensions have their own time span settings (start date and end date) overriding this default solution time span.

Data Warehouse database (dw db) section

The selected data warehouse database is shown with server, database and schema name.

User name and password can be edited along with connection timeout and default row limit for preview settings.

Note - Do not use your personal user/password here. User name and password will be stored and used for all users. 
Leave the user name and password fields blank to use integrated security.

 

Data Warehouse DB - Command Buttons

Change DW DB

Click to start a wizard to change data warehouse database and copy existing data to it. You can switch to an existing or create an new database. Existing data in the original database can be deleted.

Validate DW DB Content

Click to check the data warehouse for consistency. Table and view names, settings etc is checked for each content. Unused tables/view are removed (due to rename etc.), and configurations like table types etc. updated.

Test Connection

Click to validate name and security settings. A connection will be made to the data warehouse database.

Performance issues can arise from heavy fragmentation of related data. The following commands are available to identify/fix storage fragmentation issues:

Available Space within Database Files

Click to get information on the dw dbs file groups, sizes and free space.

Index Fragmentation Percentage

Click to get information on the dw dbs indexes, index type and fragmentation..

Rebuid Index

Click to rebuild the dbs most fragmented indexes.

 

Owner/Company section

In this section you can add company information and logos.
