Operation and Message Logs

Filter section

Following filters can be set:

  • Content; click on the [...] button and select a content item. Then click the [Refresh] button.
  • Data Flow; click on the [...] button and select a data flow. Then click the [Refresh] button.
  • Task ID; enter a valid task id. Then click the [Refresh] button.
  • Message filters; check the type of messages (i.e. error, warning and information). Then click the [Refresh] button.
  • Record Count; set the number of rows to select.
  • [Refresh] button loads and displays log data.

Message Log section

The Message log contains messages logged during processing (except trace messages).

The table contains columns for:

  • Time logged.
  • Type of log message (information,warnings errors).
  • Message text.
  • Details text.
  • Technical text.
  • Content it belongs to.
  • Data Flow.
  • Data Flow Step id.
  • Message Code.
  • Type of log entry (branch/message).
  • Task ID.
  • User ID.
To display the hierarchical message view, double click on a row in this table. This is shown at bottom.
 
Hierarchical message view toolbar:
  • [Refresh] button. This will load the hierarchical message log view with the currently specified Task ID as a filter. (This is typically used if you want to check the progress of a job executing on Profitbase Server)

Operation Log section

The Operation log contains each operation done on a data warehouse object (table/view). This can be creation, deletion, filling or other changes.

The table contains columns for:

  • Time logged
  • Content it belongs to.
  • Log Type (type of operation).
  • Status (ok, warning, error..).
  • Optional table/view name.
  • Operation Started and Ended.
  • User ID.
  • Task ID.
