A level can be imported to Parent/Child dimension trees. Click on [Import] at the level section to bring up the wizard dialog.
Click [Next] on the start page.
Select source type and click [Next]. Source types are:
Clipboard (e.g. from Excel etc,).
Resource Library on local server.
Resource Library on different server.
If from Resource Library database, select what to import (check single item).
Select how to map data. This includes selecting type and name definition id (column) for each column in the grid. Also select what column and row to include. Types for parent child is:
Key/root Item (main attribute key).
Parent Item (parent of the main column).
Description (name of the main attribute).
Formula/MDX (rollup formula of the main attribute).
Property/Attribute (additional columns implemented as attribute).
Next you need to select where to store these data. Enter a name of the Data Source Table and select either an existing Data Source or add a new. Click [Next] to complete import.
The imports is finished and it includes a new Data Source Table and a new level in the dimension tree.
